The health and safety of our community, shoppers, sellers, and employees is the highest priority of the Stadium Swap Meet, so our weekly event will be closed until further notice. We are managing our Swap Meet closure as requested by The State of California Recommendations and new local mandates by Mayor Kevin Faulconer’s State of Emergency address and the Department of Health and Human Services in an attempt to slow the spread of the coronavirus. This is a proactive closure which has been shown to be one of the most effective forms of nonpharmaceutical interventions against a viral outbreak. We know that this is not going to stop the spread of the virus, but slowing the spread, if at all possible, is a huge relief to our emergency response systems and, as a community, we should all take part in this effort.
We must all work together to help one another and keep each other safe, especially those among us who are considered high-risk – – the elderly and those who have compromised immune systems. The State and County’s new “best practice” strategy of closing down large public gatherings and events is presently to limit the opportunity for people to come into contact with one another, thereby limiting the extent to which the COVID-19 virus can spread.
Please follow the suggested coronavirus protocol.
